Author Guidelines

The Insights in Computer Science (ICS) journal cordially invites the submission of high-quality, original research articles, comprehensive reviews, and other scholarly works pertinent to the field of computer science. To ensure a smooth submission and publication process, authors are required to adhere to the following guidelines, which are designed to maintain consistency, readability, and scientific rigor in our journal.

1. Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be prepared using the following formatting standards:

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point font size
  • Line Spacing: Double-spacing throughout the manuscript, including the abstract, references, and figure captions
  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
  • Page Numbers: Include page numbers in the footer of each page
  • Word Limit: Research articles should be between 3,000 and 7,000 words, including references, tables, and figures. Review articles may be longer but should be discussed with the editorial team in advance.

2. Title Page

The title page must include:

  • Title of the Manuscript: A concise and descriptive title that clearly conveys the subject of the research
  • Authors: Full names of all authors, including the corresponding author (with email address)
  • Affiliations: Institutional affiliations for each author
  • ORCiD: All authors must provide their ORCiD IDs to ensure proper attribution of their work
  • Keywords: 4–6 keywords relevant to the manuscript's content

3. Abstract and Keywords

  • Abstract: A clear, concise summary of the study, including the background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. The abstract should be between 150 and 250 words.
  • Keywords: After the abstract, provide a list of 4-6 keywords to assist in the manuscript's discoverability. These keywords should reflect the primary focus of the research.

4. Main Body of the Manuscript

The manuscript should be divided into the following sections, where applicable:

  • Introduction: Briefly introduce the research question, background information, and the objectives of the study.
  • Materials and Methods: Clearly describe the methods used in the study, including data collection, analysis techniques, and any ethical considerations.
  • Results: Present the results of the study in a clear, logical order, using tables, figures, and text as appropriate.
  • Discussion: Interpret the results, discuss their implications, compare them with existing literature, and suggest future research directions.
  • Conclusion: Provide a concise summary of the study’s key findings and their significance.

5. References and Citation Style

All references must be formatted according to American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition guidelines. Ensure all in-text citations have corresponding entries in the reference list and vice versa.

In-Text Citations

  • Paraphrasing: Include the author's last name and publication year.

    Example: (Smith, 2020)

  • Direct Quotes: Include the author's last name, publication year, and page number.

    Example: (Smith, 2020, p. 15)

6. Figures and Tables

  • Figures: All figures (graphs, charts, images, etc.) must be provided in high resolution (at least 300 dpi) and in an editable format (such as EPS or TIFF). Figures should be numbered consecutively (e.g., Figure 1, Figure 2) and accompanied by a brief descriptive caption.
  • Tables: Tables should be numbered consecutively and formatted according to journal standards. Each table must be accompanied by a title and should be referenced in the text. Tables should be presented in a separate section of the manuscript after the references.

7. Supplementary Materials

Any supplementary materials (e.g., appendices, datasets, videos) should be submitted as separate files. These materials will be reviewed along with the manuscript and made available online if the article is accepted for publication.

8. Ethical Considerations

  • Ethical Approval: Research involving human, and animal must have approval from an institutional review board or ethics committee, and such approval must be stated in the manuscript.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must declare any financial or personal conflicts of interest that could influence the research process or interpretation of results.

9. Submitting the Manuscript

To submit your manuscript, you must first register with the journal. If you have already registered, you may simply login and begin the submission process. All submissions will undergo a peer-review process before being considered for publication. Please ensure that your manuscript is free from any identifying information (such as author names) before submission to facilitate anonymous peer review.

  3. Original Work:
    The manuscript represents original research and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.

  4. Ethical Compliance:
    All necessary ethical approvals have been obtained for the research, and relevant declarations are included in the manuscript.

  5. ORCiD ID:
    ORCiD IDs for all authors have been provided during submission to enhance transparency and author identification.

  6. Supplementary Materials:
    Any supplementary files, such as datasets, figures, or multimedia content, are uploaded as separate files and clearly labeled.

  7. Conflict of Interest:
    A declaration of any potential conflicts of interest is included within the manuscript or accompanying documentation.

  8. Abstract and Keywords:
    A concise abstract and relevant keywords are provided to accurately describe the content of the manuscript.

  9. Author Information:
    Complete author details, including full names, affiliations, and contact information, are included and accurately presented.

  10. Privacy Agreement:
    By submitting this manuscript, you agree to the journal’s Privacy Statement and confirm that the provided information will be used only for publication purposes.
