Withdrawal Policy
At Academia Publications, we value the integrity of the publication process and strive to ensure that all submissions are handled ethically and transparently. Withdrawal of submissions is discouraged unless absolutely necessary. Authors are requested to carefully consider the implications of withdrawing their manuscripts and adhere to the guidelines below to ensure fairness and accountability.
Criteria for Authors to Withdraw Their Submissions
-
Valid Reasons for Withdrawal:
Authors may request to withdraw their submission under exceptional circumstances, such as significant errors discovered post-submission, ethical concerns, or changes in authorship that affect the manuscript's integrity. -
Submission of Withdrawal Requests:
Authors must submit a formal written request, clearly stating the reasons for withdrawal, to the editorial office. Withdrawal requests will only be processed if the editorial team finds the reasons valid and in line with ethical standards. -
Restrictions on Withdrawal:
Withdrawal is not permitted to avoid peer-review feedback, rejection, or publication in cases of simultaneous submissions to multiple journals, as such practices violate publication ethics.
Consequences of Withdrawal During or After Peer Review
-
During Peer Review:
If a manuscript is withdrawn during the peer-review process, authors may be required to reimburse any administrative or processing costs incurred. Additionally, repeated withdrawals without valid justification may lead to a ban on future submissions to the journal. -
After Peer Review:
Withdrawal after acceptance but before publication is highly discouraged. Such withdrawals may require authors to provide a written explanation, and the incident may be reported to the institutions or funding bodies involved. -
Post-Publication Withdrawal:
Withdrawal of a published article is treated as a retraction and follows the COPE Retraction Guidelines. Retracted articles are marked clearly to inform readers and maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
